We can help you take your consumer electronics project all the way from idea to prototype and beyond.
If there is a consumer electronics product you would like to design and produce, we can help you through every stage of the process, from design to production. After getting the product ready for market, we have an abundance of auxiliary services available, from marketing services to the processing, management, and storage of big data. Need help with only one component of the project? No problem! Our projects are fully customizable to your needs, and scalable if those needs evolve.
Renowned for world-class security, the products Pleasant Solutions has developed – in its over a decade of experience in the custom software business – are used by many demanding industries including government, aerospace, banking, and many more. Over $1 billion in revenue depends on our software. We are the only company in Alberta that can provide this level of support – from mechanical and electrical engineering, to development, project management, and even marketing support – all in-house.
Many of our first-time clients come to us after a separate firm or an internal hire failed to meet deadlines, deliver receivables, or meet expectations. Hence our slogan: “the experts you wish you called… the first time.” Often, speed, accuracy, and error prevention can be the most crucial factors when it comes to achieving a positive return on investment (ROI) on your product or project.
We are here to help you through that process.
Pleasant Solutions has developed a very lean workflow, one that cuts down on excess expenditure and eliminates the huge time spend often required by upper and middle management. Our departments all work in parallel under the guidance of our tenured Project Managers – from research, design, hardware construction, and software development, to producing a ready-to-go prototype for pre-manufacturing.
Our in-house engineering team – that includes mechanical, electrical, and electronics engineers – produce the hardware for your product. At the same time, our developers, 3D modellers, embedded programmers, and cloud programmers create the software in parallel. Throughout every stage of the project’s life cycle, we connect with our clients through a secure internal system – ensuring your privacy and security.
Our subsidiary company, aptly named Paranoid, offers several newly launched, patented products that give users more control over their privacy. As the passion project and invention of Pleasant Solutions’ CEO, Paranoid Home offers a lineup of small add-on devices that connect to your smart speaker via voice activation, turning its microphone on and off when you need to use it. Paranoid ensures that your smart device is only listening to you when you command it to.
Paranoid Home Button activates a USB-powered button-pusher that physically pushes a smart speaker's mute button, and then re-engages it after you have finished your voice command.
Paranoid Home Wave discreetly generates noise and interference in close proximity to the smart speaker's microphones to jam them. When the Paranoid device detects the wake word, it temporarily stops the jamming to allow the smart speaker to hear and respond to voice commands.
Paranoid Home Max is the line’s more extensive option, an internal configuration. The user takes or ships their smart speaker to service centers, where technicians physically cut the microphone and bypass the signal to go through the Paranoid circuitry. The device is then returned with Paranoid privacy built in.
Nestlé was seeking an innovative way to market and sell their candy. Mentor Group had the vision of a futuristic candy vending machine. They needed us to fulfill Nestlé’s extensive software and branding/graphics needs on a very tight schedule.
Pleasant Solutions built a state-of-the-art vending machine with 40” touchscreens, interactive software, graphics that met Nestlé’s strict requirements, and a payment interface with cash, credit, and gift card systems. Under the hood, the software worked with proprietary equipment that controlled the candy and cup dispensing, even doing things like locking and disposing of candy if unclaimed within a few minutes.
