Client Testing or Testing on Your Own Device

In order for you or customers to test apps as development progresses, the device will need to put in 'developer mode'. The process for doing so varies from device to device, but at a high level the steps for many android platforms are typically:

1. Go to the settings menu
2. Scroll down to the "System" section and/or navigate to the "About Device" area.
3. Listed in this section you should see a "Build number"  (you may need to scroll down and the build number may be greyed out, this shouldn't matter.
4. Tap the "Build number" section seven (7) times. You may see a warning that you're about to unlock developer options.
5. You should now see a message about now being in developer mode and/or in the main settings menu, you might now see a "Developer options" listed.
   
   Congratulations, your device is now in developer mode and you can now download test versions of your app!
