Not your everyday business development position. No boring follow-ups, no closing, just opening the door into meetings.
Positions Available:
- Multiple full time and part time business development positions available.
- Primarily intermediate and senior level positions with some junior level.
- Positions available in both our headquarters as well as our several satellite sales offices.
- Work from home, but a lot of time spent around the city meeting people.
- Custom tailored positions will occasionally be considered for candidates that are seeking primarily to focus on leveraging an exceptional rolodex rather than a typical sales position.
- We are also hiring for other positions this year (sales engineers, industry vertical specialists, PMs, developers, etc). If you know someone in any of these areas, please do them a quick and friendly favour by letting them know about this posting.
Position Overview:
- Vast majority of your time is in mingling with people, getting to know various internals about their businesses, and once a need is mentioned then offering them to get a free quote that solves it.
- Typically meeting people involves person to person networking, and a minority amount of time on other hunting methods.
- You will not have to do follow-ups. We have other staff for that.
- You will not have to be in closing meetings. We have other staff for that. You are measured by your ability to get people talking about their business and spotting the need and being willing to tell the business analyst enough for us to quote a solution.

- One of the example products we sell: a tool that can convert a spreadsheet into a multi-user web application. We sell it as full service and sometimes do it yourself. We can also sell full fledged custom software development services if it comes up.
- Flexible hours (for example: choose to start your day between 6am and 10am, work late some days and shorter on others). Requires flexibility back to match event schedules.
- Variety and flexibility to mutually agree on target industries and target customer sizes.
- Opportunity to be rewarded for introducing company-wide sales initiatives (for example: lunch-n-learns, golf tournaments, and whatever your experience shows is something we should start).
- Supported by other departments that are involved in the presales cycle including business analysts, infrastructure analysts, and occasionally the project managers.
- Being a trusted contact to communities of prospects, spotting opportunities within the client's stories for win-wins.
Requirements:
- Passionate about mingling, and exceptionally good at getting people talking about their business.
- Hungry for results.
- Familiar with business-to-business sales.
